How Does Fluids Analysis Work?
During operation, lubricating oils and coolant circulate through the major components of your vehicles or equipment. The fluids pick up small amounts of wear metals, fuel, water, dirt and other contaminants that come from or cause mechanical problems. Through a laboratory analysis of used oil and coolant, Titan Laboratories can determine the condition of your vehicles and equipment, pinpoint specific problems and provide recommendations for correcting those problems.
The process begins by taking a sample of used oil or coolant and sending it to Titan Laboratories. Once the fluid sample is received, laboratory technicians perform a series of chemical tests which determine overall fluid quality and measure the kind and quantity of micron-sized particles of wear metals, dirt and soot as well as water, fuel and other contaminants in parts-per-million concentrations. The test results are analyzed and a report with maintenance recommendations is produced. If a serious problem is found, all tests are rerun to confirm the results and a technician calls you immediately to discuss the problem and possible solutions.
